Case Study: Le Ray Gymnastics



The Company

Le Ray Gymnastics is an Australian-based gymnastics business owned by 2000 Olympics competitor Dani Le Ray. Dani was six years old when she first started gymnastics. In 1998, she competed in the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and in 2000, she represented Australia as a rhythmic gymnastics competitor at the Sydney Olympic games.


She has since retired from competing but has turned her focus and passion to cultivating future generations of gymnasts.



Having grown to five training centres located throughout Australia, Le Ray Gymnastics has produced the country’s highest number of State, National, and International gymnasts for more than 20 years. The company offers a wide range of training options from recreational level to elite competitors. 

The Problem


While Dani owns and runs Le Ray Gymnastics, her husband Marc Cowper looks after the marketing and operations. Before turning to Aretex, Le Ray Gymnastics hired a part-time bookkeeper to keep track of customer accounts and payments. At the time, Le Ray was investing a significant amount of money in the bookkeeping process but still struggled to keep up with the growing needs of the business. Rather than real-time information, bookkeeping was compliance-driven, playing catch-up as BAS deadlines approached.
